Working with International Organizations and NGOs

Clearing the path to decision makers.

The United Nations system can seem maze-like to the uninitiated. Barbara Burns helps clients clear a path to decision makers, whether officials, specialists or NGOs (non-governmental organizations). She is a NGO representative herself for the International Public Relations Association (IPRA).

Counsel to a major food company.

A global consumer products company asked Barbara to identify opportunities and open doors in the NGO community for the launch of a product that will benefit the poorest children in Latin America, Asia and Africa.

Speeches and pro-bono projects.

Barbara organized a seminar on “The New Power of NGOs” for the Public Relations World Congress in Helsinki, Finland. She is a frequent lecturer on public relations topics at UN Seminars for NGOs. Her international public relations program to combat drug abuse, conducted with the support of IPRA and the NGO community, won awards and honors in several countries.
